CIVILIZATION WILL PROBABLY SURVIVE


	There are supposed to be various threats to the survival of
humanity or at least to the American standard of living.  Most of these
threats come from the environmentalists who tell us what bad things
will happen if we don't mend our ways.  Others
tell us that if we take the environmentalists' advice, disaster will
occur.  As you know, I am closer to the latter view than the former.

	However, all this talk of disaster from one source or another
makes it difficult to get attention for mere improvements in human life.
